About the event
Our monthly Dead Poets Salon will this month be invoking the spirit of Mary Herbert, née Sidney. In her day she was counted among the great literary lights alongside Shakespeare and Edmund Spenser. In fact Spenser, Drayton, Jonson and many others were all friends of hers and part of her literary circle. As so often, it is the woman whose history has been overshadowed, and tonight we will do our best to let her voice be heard again with renewed vigour.
As ever, the second part of our evening will be our always-lively Open Mic and you are welcome, nay encouraged, to read, sing or perform your own work to us.
